kas tõesti on adbluest veel mingi nõmedam süsteem välja mõeldud ?

Sellel paagil on ju taseme andur täitsa olemas, ilmselt pead vedelikku ostma ja 175 tundub natuke üle makstud,

Preparatory work
Clean any dirt from the fuel filler pipe.

Topping up the additive tank
Note! Avoid contact with the skin and protect the eyes.
Diesel additive must not come into contact with the painted surfaces of the car.
Diesel additive can run out when removing the quick-release connectors.
Remove the plug (quick-release connector) for the diesel additive (a) level control pipe. Connect the hose (quick release connector) to a container.
Place the container in a suitable position beneath the car.
Remove the plug (quick-release connector) for the diesel additive (b) fuel filler pipe. Connect the hose to the container with diesel additive.
Place the container higher than the additive tank.
Fill the tank until the diesel additive begins to run through the pipe for level control.
Remove the hose with the two quick-release connectors and Install the two plugs.

Finishing
After topping up the additive tank, the tank level counter must be reset.

Some 2.0 D's have DPF and additive system to allow dpf regeneration to occurr. These were early E4 emmission spec cars. Later 2.0D's do not all have the additive regeneration system as Volvo phased out this system even thouigh they still meet the E4 spec.

1.6D engines do still have additive fluid to aid regeneration.

The reason given for using the additive to aid regeneration, is that these four cylinder engines did not get hot enough to burn off the soot that builds up on the dpf. I suspect that this is due to the design and type of DPF. Different DPF designs do not need this.

On the additive system, the tank sits above the rear axle and can be seen from behind the car. Additive is added to the fuel tank when greater than 20 ltres of fuel is added to the tank. This ensures that the correct additive/ fuel ratio is maintained.

If the tank is empty, an "Engine system Service" message will be dislayed on info display. An error code will be logged on the system which can be read by the Volvo diagnostic system.

Topping up the tank could be done by home mechanic, but this is a bit messy with pipe kit supplied, but more importantly a software counter needs to be reset which normally would be done by an authorised dealer or one that has suitable equipment. My advice would be to get this done by a Volvo agent.

For cars that have the above system the DPF has a finite life of 75k. It is replaced at this service. The additive tank is topped up every 37.5k or third service. Both of these add to service cost at this time.

The car will not immediately fail if DPF not replaced at 75k miles, Volvo say that it may well have blocked to a point that regeneration does not completely clean it and for this reason build replacement into maintenance programme.
